Kick Ashley's Ovarian Cancer

Life can change in a moment.

After months of urgent care visits, ER visits and many doctors appointments - On Christmas Eve, my Twin Sister Ashley found out she has stage 3 Ovarian Cancer.  She is 35 years old.  After the holiday, my parents and Ashley flew to Los Angeles to start treatment at City of Hope - https://www.cityofhope.org/ .  They will be residing in California until the end of treatment to be close to her doctors and the treatment facility and will thus be  displaced from their Chicago homes.

Ashley will be having 3 rounds of chemo followed by a major surgery - hysterectomy and removal of part of her liver, colon and spleen.  After her surgery, she will have 3 more rounds of chemo and then will return to her home in Chicago.  All in, she will be receiving treatment for close to 6 months straight.

This is going to be a long journey for Ashley and our family.  My sister is my everything and the bond we have is indescribable.  For those who have a twin or are parents of twins, you know how close the bond is and I will do everything I can to help her beat this!

Not only is she my everything, she also means so much to so many others.  She is the greatest aunt to my two young children who love her as much as they love me.  She is an amazing sister to my brother and maintains amazingly close relationships to our cousins.  On top of all that, she touches the hearts of friends, coworkers, and even brief acquaintances.  Simply put, the world is a brighter and better place with Ashley.  Ashley will continue to spread joy amongst those of us who have been blessed to be a part of her life.

Funds from this tremendous effort will go towards her chemo treatments and surgery expenses.  We expect her costs will be very expensive, but in the event that there is an excess of funds from this effort, the entirety of the balance will be donated to City of Hope.

Please send hope, strength and positivity.
