Canyon Elementary School has not had a functioning library in some time. Canyon deserves a library that is welcoming, useful, and relevant.

Work has been happening behind the scenes to get the library organized and fit for purpose. After considerable parent volunteer time, we are pleased to report that it is almost ready to welcome students to read and borrow books.

We are asking the community to fund an investment in the Canyon Elementary Library, to ensure it fulfills its potential as a resource and highlight of the Canyon student experience.

We are creating a mini library within our library, a special nature collection in the south east corner dedicated to our former school head, Hope Nathan.

We need new furniture, a broader collection, and many other small things to spruce up the space.

The back deck is badly desiccated and needs an awning so that the library again has an outdoor component where readers can commune with the large redwood tree just out the back door.
