The Burroughs Family needs your help.
Over the years, Tim has had ongoing degenerative spinal deterioration due to the effects of childhood cancer and treatment. Over time, this has lead to a multitude of health issues that are irreversble. These health effects and spinal injuries have forced Tim to be on medical disability for over a year which has created a a financial hardship for the Burroughs as well as a poor quality of life for Tim. He is not allowed to return to work until his Spine is repaired.
After a long wait and battle, and appeal after appeal with the insurance company, Tim was recently given the devistaing news that his insurance company would not approve or pay for the surgery. He is in need of Ventral and Dorsal surgery with an artificial disc replacement . He has had a similar surgery in the past but because of insurance changes, it will not be covered this time.
Because Tim's United States Dr.'s understand the critical need for this surgery, they offered to do this proceedure for free. Unfortunaltey the local hospital was not onboard and required an astronomical amount of money for use of the hospital, his stay and post op care.
As finacially this was not an option, Tim and Leesa had no other choice but to look for alternitives. They contacted the surgeon in Germany who invented the artificial disc that Tim currently needs. This surgeon and the hospital in Gernamy on are the cutting edge of the proceedure that Tim needs. It will cost significantly less money for the surgey, travel expenses and recovery in Germany as opposed to having the proceedure done in the U.S. With no other choice, they scheduled the surgery in Germany for December 2, 2014.
Tim's immediate family has graciously contributed what they can, however they still need more financial support.
Please help to support Tim on this road to getting the surgery that he needs and deserves. With this surgery, he will be out if pain, back to work and on his way to a better quality of life for himself, his wife and his three children.
Any help is appreciated and no amount is too small. Please share Tim's story with your family and friends and help the Burroughs family to get the help they need. They Burroughs are for ever grateful for your help.
Thank you
