**Help Us Give Harley the Care He Deserves**

I am posting on behalf of our good friend Lauren… Owner of Tails & Trails

On the morning of Tuesday, February 18th, my life would take an unexpected turn during a routine dog walk. A playful dog emerged from the woods, and despite my efforts to find his owner, no one came. Following my instincts, I followed him into the woods, where he led me to his dad, who had sadly passed away and had been there overnight. The dog, now known as Harley, had waited patiently for someone to help, and I truly believe that without him, his owner might not have been found. That day, we rescued each other.

In just four days, I've grown deeply attached to Harley, and I’m determined to honour his owners memory by caring for him. Unfortunately, Harley has no family to turn to. A vet visit on February 19th revealed a possible torn cruciate ligament and patella slippage, leading to muscle wastage in his right leg. Despite his resilience, it's clear that he’s in pain. I’ve scheduled an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon on February 26th to get a full diagnosis, but without a Next of Kin, I’m unable to make any decisions on his behalf at this moment. However, the operation is likely to be very expensive and any monies raised will go towards his treatment, if any extra over monies are raised this will be donated to a dog charity.

Harley is just five years old, and he’s the sweetest boy you could ever meet. He gets along with every dog, cat, and person he encounters, and his recall is exceptional. I refuse to let him be put down after what he has been through and I would like to give him the best life moving forward by each others side.
