Hello, my name is Rhonda, the grandmother of baby Tristan.  Tristan’s parents are going through very challenging times with the health recovery of their 10-month old son presently in ICU.

My grandbaby was admitted in the hospital on August 8, 2018 for a few weeks due to recovering from his 1st surgical procedure.

Baby Tristan was re-admitted on September 27, 2018 for more than a month after having his 2nd routine surgical procedure. After the procedure, the doctor had suggested a “needed” 3rd operation which resulted in a surgical mistake causing bacteria in his stool which infected his blood and the heart pumped it throughout his whole body infecting his heart, kidney, and lungs. The error spiraled our grandbaby into septic shock resulting on life/heart support, having edema which doctors had to place him in a coma etc.  At present, Tristan is awake but has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

My daughter & son-in-law need your help.  We set the original goal to $5,000 but updated to $10,000 for reasons of maintaining until mommy returns to work which is delayed.  One-on-one intensive aftercare will be needed by mommy - will not be able to release care to baby-sitter with his medical issues at the moment.

This overwhelming set of circumstances has gravely affected their finances. 
My daughter has to be on-site at the hospital 24 hours (she cannot leave).  She is on leave from work without pay… which has resulted in her being behind on her car note, car insurance and having incurring medical-stay expenses.  

My son-in-law works in East Texas.  After work, he drives 6 hours in order to be with his son in Dallas and leaves very early the next morning to return to work. 

Their whole lives have been turned upside-down as they are dealing with new information and having to make heart-breaking decisions on a daily basis to help baby fight for his life.

Extra money is needed for transportation, food, car repair etc.

Doctors are unsure about Tristan’s discharge on when he can go home.

We, as grandparents are doing our best to help support our family but still feel powerless.

Our daughter and son-in-law had requested us to help them post and manage this gofundme, for which we are so honored.  This was the hardest thing I have ever written in my life.
