Susan’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
The outpouring of love and help from friends and family the past two weeks have been overwhelming. As a family, we would love to ease Susan’s recovery by putting her mind and heart at rest about previous and incoming medical bills.
The past few years have been challenging medically. Beginning in 2016 Susan incidentally discovered that she had both thyroid and kidney cancer. She had two procedures to successfully remove both of them. The following year she began struggling with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat). After a year of attempting to solve this with medications, Susan underwent a cardiac ablation. Fortunate once more, her heart is back to normal. At the beginning of 2019, Susan began having headaches. Throughout the year they increased in severity. Two weeks ago she went to the doctor expecting a simple solution. An MRI revealed a mass in her brain with internal bleeding most likely from her kidney cancer. Sent straight from the doctors to the ER, Susan spent the night at Paoli Hospital, and underwent brain surgery the next day. Once again, she has made it out on the other side successfully.
Currently, Susan has been surprising doctors with how well she has been recovering from her brain surgery. It may still take several months to fully recover, including several rounds of radiation and many doctor visits. At this time, extensive testing is still being done to see whether the mass removed is benign, which may increase future medical needs.
Susan has been a rock and helping hand to so many people in her lifetime. It’s our turn to be the same for her.
