Hi, my name is Amanda Hilario, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my brother and his wife, Matt and Shanon , who is facing a loss no parent should ever have to bear. Their beautiful daughter, Olivia was born on December 31, 2019, and after a courageous battle with Rett syndrome, she sadly passed away on the morning of April 13 2025. Our hearts are shattered.

Rett syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that primarily affects girls, leading to severe impairments in speech, movement, and breathing. Olivia endured more in her short life than most of us can imagine — months and months of hospital visits, constant medical care, and countless challenges. But she faced it all with quiet strength, surrounded by so much love.

Despite everything, she was full of light. She loved music — it always brought a smile to her face. She lit up every time Bluey came on the screen, and she had a special bond with the many amazing therapists who came to support her. Her spirit was sweet, strong, and full of love. She touched everyone around her, and her presence was a true gift to our family.

Most of all, she adored her big brother, Matty. The two of them had a beautiful bond — he was the best big brother anyone could ask for. They loved playing together, laughing, and simply being near each other. The way Matty loved and protected his sister was something truly special, and her absence is deeply felt by him as well.

This GoFundMe is to help Matthew and Shannon Hilario with the financial weight that comes after such a heartbreaking loss — funeral and memorial costs, time off work, and other unexpected expenses as they grieves and tries to begin healing.
