GCISD Covid Safety & Masking Lawsuit - Fundraiser

Stop the Spread, Support our Lawsuit to Save Lives

We're taking GCISD to United States District Court, seeking an emergency injunction and order to force them to implement common-sense Covid-19 safety measures from the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Cook Children’s Hospital to protect students, parents, teachers, families, and the community.

 

Hi there! We are Stacey Silverman and Kathleen Thompson, GCISD moms who are working to save lives.

Our school district has accepted the politicization of this pandemic and calls masking a “personal choice.” This is dangerous and deadly.

Members of the GCISD community are dying. There are too many empty seats at the table, and we reject the inaction of people elected to lead. Letters, calls, emails and petitions to the school board/superintendent fall on deaf ears.

 

Cases have surged among younger students - who are not able to receive a vaccine - periods of no pediatric ICU beds available in the region, and a dire situation with 99% of adult ICU beds occupied in Tarrant County, as of 9/23/2021.   

In fact, last week (9/16) Cook Children's Hospital in downtown Fort Worth  announced it was halting non-emergency surgeries due to staff, bed shortages from COVID surge

 

At every stage, GCISD's Board of Trustees and District Administration denied our requests for basic policies to help stop the spread of Covid-19. They refuse to even bring mask mandates up for a Board vote.

 

Lawsuits are time-consuming and expensive - our grassroots activism, passionate organizers and parents have put their hearts into helping our kids - but we need your help to assist in the cost of litigation, filing fees, court costs, records requests, and all the work that's needed to ensure our students have the safe schools they deserve!

We're initiating legal action NOW, and all the funds will be remitted to the law firm handling our class action case. There will be no fees or service costs taken out, other than those serviced by GoFundMe.
