My name is Amber Downs and I have end stage renal disease. Currently I am being evaluated for my second kidney transplant. Nearly seven years ago I was blessed with a healthy pancreas and kidney. Although my pancreas is well and thriving, my transplanted kidney is approaching the end of it's successful reign of victory.

I am blessed with a wonderful, supportive husband, Huel. We have two beautiful daughters ages 12 and 10, Ansley and Mercadies.

I became a nurse shortly after my first transplant and as fate would have it, I work with dialysis patients as kidneys are my passion.

I truly look forward to this scary but wonderful journey in which I am about to embark.
