After experiencing shoulder pain and following the advice of her physiotherapist, Phoebe discovered in August that she had a tumour around her scapular. Upon further tests and biopsies over the course of a long 2 months, Phoebe and her family were able to receive a diagnosis. Phoebe was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at the age of 21, just a year following the loss of her close friend, Dakota, after her battle with Leukaemia.

To know Phoebe is to love Phoebe, with her unwavering positivity, contagious love for life, and appreciation for the little things. She is well known throughout the Northern Beaches community, having grown up in North Curl Curl, attending North Curly Public School, followed by high school at Mackellar Girls Campus and her senior years at Freshwater Senior Campus. During high school, she, along with Dakota, came back to their old North Curly stomping grounds as OOSH educators. Phoebe has also always had a passion for dance, and followed this passion after school at Brent Street, where she completed her Diploma of Performing Arts. Prior to her devastating diagnosis, Phoebe taught dance at Dancexcel Performance Studios where she is absolutely adored. She is a huge part of our community, and has had such a positive effect on all of her students, families and friends with her kindness, humour, and dedication.

Phoebe’s parents, Mel and Drew, both work full-time on top of devoting all their love and care to Phoebe, whilst being with her as much as possible as she undergoes chemotherapy. As well as taking care of Phoebe’s younger siblings, India and Tom. We ask you to come together to support Phoebe and her family, and help relieve the financial stress of treatment so that Mel and Drew can spend their days with Phoebe during this incredibly difficult time.
