Help Dallas

Hi, my name is Dollie & I’m fundraising for my beloved best friend Dallas.
Heart broken to even be writing this - and we never thought it would happen to us.
Sadly Dallas is very sick, and is currently staying at a specialist treatment facility in Marlow called The Ralph. Dallas is only 4 years old.
Dallas had vomited in the evening of Friday 13th, and by the Sunday was admitted for emergency out of hours veterinary care. He was weak, dehydrated and completely off his food. Showing extreme thirst and frequent urination, he wasn’t right.
They found his blood work showed elevated liver levels and suspected toxin ingestion. He was given an anti sickness injection and an electrolyte drink. For a non scavenger type, I was skeptical - but open to this suggestion, trusting the vets opinion.
I attended our local vets the next morning again (Monday 16th), as by this point he was turning yellow in his eyes (jaundice). He didn’t seem to be making any further improvements. We were sent home again with Omperazole (a common anti nausea medication used in humans).
Despite mentioning concerns surrounding his jaundice, this was brushed off and not causing concerns with the vet. Again, I was worried by this course of action - but trusted the vet.
I knew he wasn’t himself still by that evening despite the anti nausea medication. I made the decision to return him again to the vets that evening for further tests. His x-rays showed no obstructions in the stomach, but his blood work confirmed his liver enzymes were still through the roof. Panic immediately set in that we may have let this advance too far already.
I then took him straight to the emergency vets again, who kept him overnight on fluids via an IV. They couldn’t get his liver levels to reduce and so instructed we take him back to our regular vets the following morning. I drove him back to the vets where they also admitted him for the day, yet his blood work showed his liver readings were still very high.
By that evening (Weds 18th), the decision was made that he was transferred to the specialist. I then drove him to Marlow, where they suspected toxin ingestion again. He was intensive care by this point, and then later transferred to the internal medicine team.
They’ve treated him with antibiotics, antioxidants, intravenous fluids and also fitted a feeding tube for Dallas as it has been 6 days since he had eaten at this point.
He has been hospitalised in The Ralph since Wednesday 18th. His liver enzymes are not coming down despite treatments. Albeit brighter within himself, and finally eating
well now, we are making no progress with his reducing his liver enzyme level.
His bloods are taken every 24 hours and there’s been no change, if anything the liver enzymes are only increasing. We now suspect he has chronic liver disease.
Dallas now needs biopsies and surgical intervention to determine what is causing his liver to crash, and what we can do to help him.
We have already maxed out his insurance (up to £7000) and the further tests have been quoted at another £7000. We aren’t expecting to receive the full funding but thankful for anything you can give.
Dallas loves his life; running, digging, swimming and playing. His favourite past time is riding shotgun with his head out the window, taking in all the scents as you drive. He loves dog school, the beach, and going on staycations with his family and collie brother Marshall.
We all miss him so much, our house isn’t a home without him. Its a tough time of the year financially for most, so we appreciate donations may be in short supply, but we are beyond grateful for anything that you are able to spare.
Thank you for taking the time to read, and please do share amongst your friends if you can.
Dollie & Dallas xx
