In July 2025, my mother, Carolyn Lee Clark, suffered a series of microstrokes that changed her life forever. Just as we hoped for recovery, she was struck by a second round leaving her currently temporarily unable to live on her own or manage her daily needs.

My mom has always been my rock. She supported me through everything, including my own battle with brain stem cancer caused by Neurofibromatosis Type I, a rare genetic condition that affects my nervous system. Even when she was struggling herself, she never stopped caring for me, over the years she has always constantly supported me, and went above and beyond. giving me the courage, strength to face the daily challenges of life. She taught me the value of compassion, honesty, kindness, to help those who need it, even at the disadvantage of ones self. She cared for both my grandmother, and grandfather (my fathers parents) for years, and when her sister and brother in law needed help and assistance when they could not fully take care of themselves, she spent hours and nights helping my aunt, and uncle. She is a true follower of Christ, whose faith never once waivered, she is a strong woman, a kind woman, a just woman, and the best mother a son could have ever asked for.

Now, the roles have reversed, and I’m doing everything I can to take care of her. She’s currently in a nursing facility, and I’ve been trying to handle her bills and responsibilities on her behalf. But it’s more than I can manage alone, and it has torn me apart to see my mother in the condition she has been in, I am not someone who often likes to ask for help, I try to be independent, but I have been overwhelemed, and the crisis my mother has found herself in has came out of nowhere.

I’m asking for help so I can keep my mother safe and cared for. Every dollar, even $5 or $10, makes a real difference. I know times are hard for everyone, but if you can help, please know it means the world to both of us.
