Dear Family and Friends,
As you may know, Stevie and Tim Anderson have been trying to grow their family for some time now. They have struggled with infertility for the last five years. Within those last five years Stevie has had five failed IUI’s with one ending in a miscarriage in July of 2019. IUI is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increase the chance of fertilization.
Stevie has PCOS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrom, which is a hormonal disorder common among women of the reproductive age. The ovaries may develop numerous small collections of fluid and fail to regularly release eggs. There is currently no cure for PCOS and it does not go away on its own. On top of that, Stevie also has a tumor on her pituitary gland. Pituitary tumors result in too many of the hormones that regulate important body functions. Some pituitary tumors can cause your pituitary gland to produce lower levels of hormones. Most of these tumors are non-cancerous which is good, but are resulting in a road block for the Anderson’s.
The doctors are saying that her next step in this process is IVF, In-Vetro Fertilization, which is a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility and assist with the conception of a child. IVF is not covered by most health insurances. The starting cost for this process is upwards of $25,000 and a large portion of that is needed to be paid upfront.
It is not easy for anyone to ask for help, especially with something so personal.
Many of you have asked how you can assist in helping the Anderson’s during this difficult time. We have decided to start this fundraiser with the hope that we can help ease the finacial burden. This has already been a long and trying experience for the both of them. You can support them by sharing this page and their story. Each and every one of you are greatly appreciated.
