Help Kara Get a New Heart - Urgent Need at UCLA!
Our beloved Kara is bravely fighting for her life, waiting for a heart transplant at UCLA. She's been hospitalized since January 13, 2025 – over six months now – battling a congenital heart defect that has led to end-stage heart failure. Her only hope is a major heart transplant and a long recovery.
Kara is now Status 2, #6 on the donor list, an urgent increase after a devastating setback. On June 25th, an attempted transplant failed just minutes before completion, leaving her with a new chest wound and an even more critical need.
The financial burden is immense: prolonged hospitalization, lifelong medications, 3 months of required post-transplant housing near UCLA, frequent travel for appointments, rehabilitation, and over a year of lost income. Her husband Chris and their two children (9 and 11) face significant travel costs (134 miles each way) to visit from San Diego.
Every donation, prayer, and share helps alleviate this overwhelming financial strain, allowing Kara and her family to focus on healing. Please help us give Kara the best chance at a long, healthy life.
