Hi I’m Victoria a 27 year old mother of 2 young boys 2 and 1 and also a wife. I was diagnosed with FND (Functional neurological Disorder) back in February 2025 after having meningitis and a csf leak, neurologists believe my FND was triggered by a lumbar puncture that failed twice so took 3 attempts I was told there was no cure and nothing I could do to help this disability but I didn’t give up and still continued to have weekly or every other week neurological physio. I have completely lost all sensation in my right leg from the bottom of my foot to my hip this has caused me lot of mobility issues leaving me no option but to wear a splint on my leg and walk using a sick or walker I also suffer with chronic pain in my back, spasms in limbs and fatigue which has had a massive impact on my life. Back in April my contract with work was terminated and occupational health deemed me unfit to work leaving me with no hope in the future. I have recently found out after doing neurological physio for almost a year they have said there is nothing more they can do for me leaving me with very little options to aid recovery. Because I am still on the NHS waiting list to be seen by a neurologist with no movement the only other option I had was to research private treatments centres that specialise in FND rehabilitation and I came across Apex Neuro who specialise in FND rehabilitation this for me would consist of a intense programme that focuses specifically on improving signalling between the brain and body using a first-of-its-kind method. Due to this being a intensive rehabilitation programme that is based in Macclesfield Cheshire it would mean staying away from home for a few days at a time to do back to back days.
