Help Save This Little Kitty's Life!
Donation protected
Earlier this morning, I received a phone call from my friend, Ilona. As she was going about her usual Saturday morning activities, she saw a little cat in a parking lot and went over to check it out. As she neared him, she saw that he was bleeding and that one of his back legs was broken so badly that the bone was sticking out. She had a box in her car that she quickly cleaned out, and using a blanket she had there, she scooped the little cat up and took him to the nearest vet office. Given the extent of the cat's injuries, she was turned away and advised to go to the nearest emergency vet office. Once she got there, she spent some money to ensure the cat was comfortable before the doctors conducted ultrasounds and x-rays to determine the extent of the damage.
They stated that the cat had likely been hit by a car a few days prior and that the leg bone was shattered -- but the cat was otherwise healthy and young (likely around two years old!). They advised Ilona that they could attempt to repair the broken leg, but that the surgery might not take and they might have to amputate the leg as a result -- a two-pronged process that would be more painful for the cat, as well as more expensive for Ilona (totaling over $9000). After seeking out additional information, Ilona decided that amputation was the best choice. This little guy is currently awaiting surgery, which will be done this evening...
AND THEN HE'S GOING TO GO HOME TO LIVE WITH ILONA AND HER FAMILY!
When Ilona woke up this morning, she planned to live her usual Saturday life -- she wasn't planning on meeting this little guy and spending about $4000 to bring him back to health. An angel was watching over him today -- he will live the rest of his days being pampered by Ilona and her family as an indoor kitty. He's extremely lucky she crossed his path! If you are financially able, please donate some funds to help Ilona with the unexpected expenses associated with saving this little cat. We are so grateful for any help you can provide!
Note: Any funds remaining after paying for the treatments needed by this little kitty will be donated to the Irvine Animal Care Center .
