Wolf's veterinary expenses
Donation protected
Today is day 305. It has been 10 months since the initial diagnosis of Wolf's incurable hemangiosarcoma and he is firmly in remission and doing well thanks to the initial surgery to remove his tumour, last summer's chemotherapy and maintenance cancer treatment from his amazing vets. The median survival age for dogs with this type of cancer is 116-172 days, 25% of dogs live to 1 year. Wolf's vet, Dr. Sam Nicol, believes he could surpass this. This is further evidence of the power of love to do the impossible. Coming home to the west coast has been the best medicine of all with daily access to the beaches and rainforest - thanks Dave!
Wolf's pet insurance has run out. I have paid down half the remaining vet costs (thanks to all of you for both donations and some great contract work) but still owe $1069. Wolf still takes expensive daily anti-cancer meds: Chlorambucil at $227 and Piroxicam at $108 monthly, along with prescription dog food to combat now less frequent flare-ups of cystitis, a side effect of a previous medication, since changed.
As most of you know, I owe Wolf my life (he stepped in front of a bear for me) and he is one half of my heart, along with Owl. Please help if you can. Thank you for all the support and encouragement and love you have already given us. It means more to me than I can ever say. I couldn't have made it this far without you and I want to go on and give him a happy life for as long as I can.
