Help Ben Represent GB Pioneers in Rugby League
Hi, I’m Ben Cawte-Davey, a recent graduate from Huddersfield University, where I trained to become a primary school teacher — with the dream of inspiring young people through sport and education.
Sport has shaped my life, and now I’ve been given an incredible opportunity: I’ve been selected to represent the Great Britain Pioneers Rugby League team on their upcoming international tour of Poland. It’s a huge honour and a major step in both my sporting and professional journey.
Who Are the GB Pioneers?
The GB Pioneers are a team of university-level rugby league players from across Britain. They travel to developing rugby nations to help grow the sport by:
• Running coaching clinics and educational sessions
• Playing matches against national and local teams
• Promoting rugby league through teamwork and cultural exchange
Players are selected not only for their playing ability, but for their passion, leadership, and commitment to supporting rugby league development worldwide. In recent years, the Pioneers have toured countries like Albania, Montenegro, Greece, Morocco, and Latvia — helping local teams grow and even establish national programs.
This summer, we head to Poland to continue that mission. Why I Need Your Help This amazing opportunity is entirely self-funded, and I'm aiming to raise £1,100 to cover:
• ✈️ Travel and accommodation
• Training kit and team uniform
• Travel insurance and medical cover
• ️ Match and tour fees
• Workshops and cultural exchange activities
Every donation, big or small, brings me closer to this goal — and closer to representing my country while doing something meaningful for the sport I love.
