Hi, I’m Ben Phillips, and I’m proud to be the UK’s current #1 ranked under-18 padel player.
Recently, I’ve been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: I’ve been offered a place on the ESS Dual Career Padel Program in Spain — becoming the first British player ever to be accepted.
It’s an incredible step forward. This unique program allows me to train at one of the world’s top padel academies, while also continuing my academic studies. I’ll be based in Spain, working under the Paquito Navarro Academy training methodology — a globally recognised leader in elite padel development.
My Journey So Far: Padel wasn’t always the plan. I started out as a tennis player and won both the Nottinghamshire Junior and Senior County Tennis Championships when I was just 15. Shortly after, I made the switch to padel — and I haven’t looked back. In just over a year of competing in padel, I’ve become: #1 ranked British junior Top 20 ranked senior in the UK I’m committed to giving everything I have to become the best player I can be. This next step — training full-time at ESS in Spain — gives me the coaching, competition, and academic support I need to chase my goals on the international stage.
Why I Need Your Support: While I’m incredibly grateful to have been accepted, and given a part scholarship, this opportunity comes with significant costs — including training, accommodation, academic tuition, travel, and equipment. I’m launching this campaign to help fund this next stage of my journey. Any support, big or small, will go directly towards helping me live, train, and study in Spain. Your support means more than you know — not just to me personally, but also to the future of British padel.
