The Moment Everything Changed

I still hear the explosion in my ears. In a single second, my world was shattered. A missile struck our home in Gaza, tearing my body apart—shrapnel scattered across every part of me, my internal organs were damaged, and my skull was fractured, destroying my face and causing me to lose one of my eyes. My younger brother was killed right before my eyes, and my other brother survived, thank God. I no longer recognize myself in the mirror, and neither does anyone else. At just 26 years old, my face now carries the scars of a life I never lived.

Surviving the Devastation

The war in Gaza spared no one. Homes, streets, schools, and dreams were obliterated. The house that once held laughter and love became rubble in seconds. We lost everything: our home, our memories, our sense of safety. We are now displaced, homeless, and without any source of income. But through it all, one blessing remained: my brother survived, and I am endlessly thankful for that.

My Injuries and Inability to Perform Daily Tasks

I am young, but my appearance doesn’t reflect it. The injuries and disfigurement make me look far older than 26. I was a medical student with dreams, but the war stole everything: my face, my eye, my home, and my future. I suffered severe internal injuries, skull fractures, major facial disfigurement, the loss of my eye, and shrapnel scattered across my entire body, leaving scars everywhere.

Today, I am unable to perform basic daily tasks such as eating, drinking, or even moving freely. Every moment has become a struggle, and my ongoing treatment is the only hope to regain a part of my normal life.

Surgeries Already Done and the Need for More

Doctors have already performed a bone graft from my leg to reconstruct my jaw and skin grafts to cover parts of my face, but this is only the beginning. I still need many more complex surgeries to fully restore my face, my eye, and my identity, and to regain my ability to live daily life independently.

Urgent Need for Further Surgeries

Today, I urgently need additional complex reconstructive surgeries. These operations are my only chance to reclaim my face, my confidence, and a normal life. But the cost is far beyond what we can afford. After losing everything—our home, belongings, and stability—my only hope now lies in the kindness of others.
