Gaza Relief: Help my family to Evacuate from Gaza

My name is Ola Mhana, and it pains me deeply to write this plea. I am a Palestinian from Gaza, a software developer, and a Master's student who has been accepted to study Computer Science in Italy in 2024. However, my dreams are currently on hold as I am still in Gaza, where my family and I endure the relentless onslaught of bombs and airstrikes, trapped in this ongoing nightmare.

I am appealing for urgent assistance in securing the departure of myself and my family from Gaza to Egypt. We fled our two homes and businesses in the first month of the war, prompted by announcements to evacuate northern Gaza. Our homes now lie in ruins, and my brother's home and father's business were bombed to rubble, while the other was completely burned and looted, leaving them with no primary income.

Currently, my parents and I are refugees along with my brothers, sister, and her kids in an old camp consisting of huts, each around 20 meters in size, accommodating 9 people with a shared public bathroom in a street in Rafah. Food is scarce and prohibitively expensive when available, and what's available is often contaminated canned food. Additionally, the lack of cleanliness has led to the spread of diseases and pollution, exposing our bodies to a deficiency of essential vitamins and minerals due to consuming canned food as our primary source of sustenance during the war, with no viable alternative.

حاليًا، أنا ووالدي وأشقائي وأختي وأطفالها لاجئون في مخيم قديم يتألف من أكشاك، كل منها بحوالي 20 مترًا مربعًا، تستوعب 9 أشخاص مع حمام عام مشترك في إحدى الشوارع في رفح. الطعام نادر وغالٍ للغاية عند توفره، وما يتوفر غالبًا ما يكون طعام معلب ملوث. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، فإن نقص النظافة أدى إلى انتشار الأمراض والتلوث، مما يعرض أجسادنا لنقص فيتامينات ومعادن أساسية بسبب تناول الطعام المعلب كمصدر رئيسي للغذاء خلال الحرب، دون بدائل متاحة.

The death toll and destruction we endure are heartbreaking, yet we persevere. I've already lost nine close relatives – my cousin and his entire family – who filled my childhood with cherished memories."

My Dad is sick and needs medical care, but there's a shortage of medicine and diagnostic facilities in south Gaza, with most hospitals out of service.

أبي مريض ويحتاج إلى رعاية طبية، لكن هناك نقص في الأدوية والمرافق التشخيصية في جنوب قطاع غزة، حيث إن معظم المستشفيات خارج الخدمة.

After 6 months of war and displacement, I seek your support to help us escape Gaza and avoid imminent danger. If I could, I'd do it alone, but it's beyond my means.

بعد 6 أشهر من الحرب والتهجير، أطلب دعمكم لمساعدتنا في الهروب من غزة وتجنب الخطر الوشيك. لو استطعت، لفعلت ذلك بمفردي، ولكنه خارج إمكانياتي.

Evacuating to Egypt through the Rafah border costs $5,000 per person. With our family of 6 persons, the total cost amounts to $30,000 USD. However, my aim is to raise it to $36,000 USD to cover transportation fees, ensure their safe passage, food, and shelter, plus to cover the GoFundMe fee deduction.

We, with heavy hearts, plead for your support to cover the fees required to evacuate them from Gaza to Egypt and start anew.
