Hi everyone!

I am posting this on behalf of my dear friend Haneen Taha, who was my former colleague when we worked together in 2022 in Palestine with a humanitarian organisation.

Haneen is a dedicated humanitarian aid worker and public health professional who has previously worked with a number of different organisations. 

Haneen has asked me to create this GoFundMe for her and her family, who have lost everything during this war. She, alongside 10 of her family members - including seven women and two children and one man - have been displaced from their home in the North of the Gaza Strip. Their home in the Twaam area of Gaza city has been completely destroyed and they are now located in the South with no where to live and struggling to meet basic needs to survive.

While it is very difficult to get any funds to Gaza right now, Haneen is hoping to raise money to help support her family as they try to evacuate to safety in Egypt. The estimated cost of this alone is already at least expected at £40,000. 

The family are struggling to find medication in Gaza to manage and treat Haneen’s elderly mother’s hypertension and diabetes and the whole family is losing weight, facing illness and deteriorating health due to a lack of food and clean water and the situation is becoming more urgent every day. 

The money being raised will go towards the cost of the evacuation as well as follow-up financial support to help pay for rent to house the family, food, medical care and other basic needs.  Any further funds raised would go towards helping the family rebuild their life.
