Update - Thank so much to everyone for their generous donations and support for this fundraiser. Given the military offensive on Rafah no one is able to exit so we would like to use the funds raise for Fatma to support her family's daily costs surviving in Gaza over the coming weeks.

The total will amount to about £2500 with some direct donations also.

My name is Helen and I am from the UK. My friend Fatma and former colleague is urgently seeking to safely relocate her sister, and her sister-in-law and her family of four children (11, 17, 22 and 23 years old) from Gaza to Egypt.

We are setting up this fundraiser to raise some of the costs towards getting these family members out of Gaza as soon as possible. The situation there remains desperate and perilous, and it is incredibly difficult for my friend to resort to this.

The exit fees to leave Gaza currently cost $5000 for an adult and $3000 for a child and are paid to a company that coordinates the exit.

My friend who works in Jordan was en route to Gaza to see her family for her holiday when the current conflict broke out. Her family in Gaza have been displaced several times already after the residential area in Gaza City where they lived was bombed, which killed her sister, niece and nephew, and has left her other sister with injuries and her sister-in-law traumatised by the loss of her daughter and son.

The funds raised will contribute to the exit fees, and medical expenses after arriving in Egypt. I will transfer the funds to my friend who will then arrange the payment of the exit fees.
