Join us for the Gaza Biennial Istanbul Pavilion

My name is Shulamit Bruckstein, and I am the founding artistic director of House of Taswir.

Starting immediately, House of Taswir (Istanbul/Berlin) proudly joins the uniquely courageous initiative announced in November 2024 by an autonomous group of artists: the Gaza Biennial Initiative. Together with more than 40 artists, House of Taswir is curating the Gaza Biennial Istanbul Pavilion, which will take place during the 18th International Istanbul Biennial in September at DEPO, Istanbul’s internationally renowned center for contemporary art.

This historic Istanbul Pavilion marks a pivotal moment. It not only introduces the newly founded Gaza Biennial in Istanbul but also intersects with this year’s 18th International Istanbul Biennial. Our Pavilion will provide a widely visible platform for Gazan artists working under conditions of extreme precarity. We dream of creating a space where Palestinian and diasporic artists can engage with international audiences, curators, and institutions on a world stage.

Funds raised will be used exclusively to realize the exhibition, to support the creation of artworks and foster an open discourse among artists and scholars.
