Cancer Warriors and Gaz Pascoe Statuette

Hi Ladies/Gents,

First of all, I would like to say what a fantastic send-off for an amazing Sqn brother. A big thank you to Steve, John and Debs; I know there are many more, so WELL DONE to everyone involved. I watched it on social media and must admit that I cried my eyes out but then got smashed.

Speaking to Mitch a few days after the event, I asked her if I could raise some funds to get a Silver Statuette for Gaz, as we did for Vince Phillips in 1991, and she has agreed. I was informed that the Vince Phillips Statuette had been damaged, but after speaking to Billy Mallinson, the Sqn WO1, he informed me that it had been repaired and took pride of place in the Sqn lines and brought out for special occasions.

So I would like to put to you that we, as veterans of the Sqn, raise funds for a Silver Statuette for a Legend of a guy who always puts the Sqn first. I have priced a Solid Silver Combat Commando Statuette with Silverlady.co.uk at £8000. Once purchased, I would like it presented to the Sqn OC at the next reunion in 2024 by Mitch herself.

The Vince Phillips Statuette cost approximately £2500, and we went over by £1500, which was then donated to the SAS benevolent fund.

So if we go over the £8000, which I am sure we will, I would like Mitch to nominate a cancer charity to donate to.

On knowing Gaz, as most of us did, I think he would like you to do something different. I am going to complete a parkrun, and for every Km I walk, I will put in £50, then sending£250 to the fund.
