Hello, this is Daniel and Amanda Parke. We are the children of Gayle Parke and Jimmy Parke. Over the last three years my father has been dealt a pretty bad run. He ultimately had to lose both of his legs due to actions that were beyond his control. Ever since then he has had nothing but bad luck. Most recently he developed an infection in one of his legs due to the rubbing of the prosthetic limb while tying to learn how to walk again. This infection turned into sepsis. This caused a severe stroke and heart attack which has left him unable to speak, eat, cough to clear his lungs, or move his right side. All of these things have left him in what will be a fight for his life for the rest of his life. We are asking for help for our mother. The constant care my father will need is going to require traveling. He is currently in a hospital over an hour away from where my mom lives. The costs of the traveling, hotels and her missing work will be a huge financial burden on her. We are doing all that we can to support our mother in this but it is taking its toll . As a child this is something we all know is coming as age is our greatest enemy but it doesn’t make it any easier when that time comes. My mother and father have been married for over 40 years and I’m wanting her to have as much time as she can with him while she can. The truth is we don’t ever know how much time we have left on earth but what I hope for is that we can spend as much time with the ones we love until that happens. That’s what I’m trying to achieve for my mother. I am truly grateful for any assistance that anyone is willing to provide.
