While on a missions trip in Canada, working with a new Haitian ministry, Gayle Parker had a nasty fall. Just days before returning home to the US, she cracked her left femur, one of the strongest bones in the body. She was taken to Ottawa where they did surgery to replace the bone with a titanium rod.
The good news—she’s recovering well.
The bad news—Canada does not accept US Medicare and requires all medical bills incurred in Canada be paid in cash.
Her operation and hospital stay came to $20,000 Canadian dollars/$15,000 US dollars. Gayle’s primary income is her Social Security check. Other offerings that come in are sent directly to the church in Haiti that she’s worked with for many years. For many Haitians, this is their only resource for food, since Haiti has primarily been overtaken by gangs.
This GoFundMe page has been created to give you the opportunity to help Gayle with this medical expense. Please consider donating, praying, and sharing this GoFundMe, and let’s see what God will do to help her in this situation. Your prayers are making an eternal difference for Gayle here and the church she serves in Haiti. Thank you.
