Gaye's Recovery

Hello, for those I have not met, I am Becky Labbo and my mom, Gaye Van Buhler is a very important person in my life. My brother and I have been blessed with the most extraordinary woman for our mom. You know what I mean for those whose lives have been personally touched by her.

Gaye had a fall on Labor Day evening. Unfortunately, she fractured her neck in a difficult place, and the direction of the fracture is complicated.

We are dedicated to getting her the care that she needs. We need to make some changes to her house for safety (e.g., a stair lift, rails, ramps, etc.). When she goes home, we need more home health support than what is covered by insurance. And we know many medical bills and other costs for care will not be covered.

My brother and I and our own families are committed to helping her as we can, but we realize we need help from our village. This will be a 6–12-month recovery (and she still might need surgery) with many unknowns. We are asking for financial donations that will all go towards my mom’s care that is not covered by insurance.

Our goal is to get her to a place where she can enjoy her family, grandkids, and friends. She is so full of life.
