Nala’s Emergency Surgery

4/12/21 We noticed Nala was not eating or drinking and was just laying around. We figured she may be under the weather and we would wait 24 hours to see if she progressed. 4/13/21 we decided to bring Nala to the vet to get a check up, the vet told us it was just a fever so we figured it was nothing serious. Today 4/14/21 we noticed Nala was not improving and decided to bring her to another vet for a second opinion. The vet told us Nala did not have a fever at all and diagnosed her with Intervertebral Disc Disease, which was causing pain in her spine. He ensured us that Nala would be fine, gave her pain meds and sent us home. Around 2pm we noticed Nala was unable to move her 2 back legs, we rushed her to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. The doctors confirmed that Nala is partially paralyzed and will need both a MRI and an emergency surgery on 4/15/21.
