Life for the Bailey Family has been a whirlwind since the morning of February the 8th. What they thought was Jordan experiencing a migraine headache turned out to be far more. Jordan had migraine like symptoms since the 4th but woke with a droopy left eye the morning of the 8th sending him to the ER for answers. He was prescribed antibiotics and some migraine medication for what was diagnosed as a sinus infection. He was sent home but by the following morning the symptoms had escalated to Jordan having lost feeling in his left arm. A second trip to a different ER involved further imaging which revealed that he had an infection on his brain and left him completely paralyzed on his right side. He had no feeling or use of his arm or leg and has vision impairment as well. This diagnosis made for an emergency flight to UCSF where the next 24 hours felt like a lifetime. Long story short Jordan was sent in for a 2 hour sinus surgery by an ENT surgical team that turned into a 7 hour surgery involving 7 surgeons from not only the ENT team but also Neurology and Ophthalmology teams. This kid handled brain surgery like an absolute pro. At this point, Jordan’s made it through surgery better than could have ever been imagined but has had a couple of setbacks since and he’s got a long road to recovery ahead. He will have at minimum a 2-3 week stay with mention that it could be months at UCSF. He will need physical therapy and much rehab.
This stay is a huge hardship on his family because
they own a family
operated business.
Any and all donations are really appreciated and will help immensely. All of the Bailey Family thanks you.
