This fundraiser is for our Superhero, Gavin. In September 2020 at 4 years old, Gavin began his journey with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. After weeks of being sick and many trips to the ER and doctors, they found a tumor on his left adrenal gland. After additional tests they found that the cancer was in his shoulders, pelvis, legs, and a few other spots. Obviously, Michael and Allie were devastated but being the amazing parents that they are, they put on a brave face and prepared to fight and that is what they and Gavin have done since. Gavin had his tumor removed and began treatment right away. During his first week stay, Allie went into labor and baby Grace joined Gavins other siblings Tyler and Emma as his biggest supporters. Gavin’s mom, Allie has done an amazing job keeping a blog of his journey. I am posting the link so you will be able to read about his full journey.
It has been a long journey since that fateful day in September 2020, one filled with lows but also many highs. One thing for sure is Gavin has kept us all on our toes and has never stopped fighting since day 1.
Unfortunately, on March 31st Gavin’s scans showed that his cancer is spreading. The decision was made to seek other opinions and luckily they were able to get Gavin in at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York as well as Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. With the news of his cancer spreading and seeking other opinions this will add additional cost for the family for travel and his medical treatments. If possible, please donate or share Gavin’s story to help take some stress off Michael and Allie.
