Gavin’s Stroke Recovery Triathlon

On the 17 October 2020 I had a Stroke leaving me paralysed down on side and unable to speak without slurring. The Neuro Rehab Team at West Berkshire Hospital put me back on the road to a normal life and worked wonders despite not having any significant rehabilitation equipment.

I am looking to finish a sprint triathlon in July, something that before my stroke I wouldcomplete easily. However since then I have had to learn to walk, run, cycle and swim again. At the moment I cannot swim more than 100m without a rest and run more than a km with walking and I have no idea if I can do one after the other let alone take my wetsuit off!
