Gavin was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes when he was six. This was a devistating blow to Gavin and his family. Now almost one and a half years later Gavin is our hero. At seven years old he has accepted and manages his diabetes. To do this he is required to wear a devise called a DexCom. This allows his family to monitor his blood sugar where ever he is. Monitoring his blood sugar allows his mother, school and relatives to administer insulin to lower it or get him extra carbs to raise it if he is too low. This helps to keep him healthy. This device is extremely expensive and insurance covers only so much. The cost for this year is $4000 on top of the other supplies he needs daily. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you from Gavin and his family.
