Hi, my name is Tori Johnson and I am Gavin’s younger sister. Recently, Gavin was in an ATV accident from which he sustained multiple injuries. After the accident he was left with lacerations on his spleen and kidney, a pancreatic injury, fractured femur, and a transected spine. He required transportation to Naval Hospital and was then transferred to New Hanover Regional for further treatment and neurosurgery. He has undergone procedures for the internal bleeding and surgeries on his femur and spine. Gavin is currently still in the ICU and has a long road ahead of him. While we’re not sure what the future holds for him, we do know he will need extensive rehab due to the spinal injury. Gavin will not be able to work and my mother has had to make the decision to give up her new job opportunities to stay home and take care of Gavin. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.
