Standing with the Praters

On Saturday night, September 6, a horrific event struck the family of our colleague and friend, Steven Prater. Two of Steven’s sons, Noah (16) and Gavin (14, soon to be 15), were involved in a devastating automobile accident in Hartselle, Alabama. Both remain hospitalized—Noah in the Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital, and Gavin in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at University of Alabama-Birmingham. Their path to recovery will be long and difficult.

Steven has been part of the IR-G family for nine years as Branch Manager of our Decatur, AL location. He is known for his leadership, his dedication to his team, and his commitment to serving our customers. Many may also know the personal challenges Steven has already faced—losing his wife, Jennifer, to breast cancer just a year and a half ago, and taking on the role of raising their three sons on his own. Now, as Noah and Gavin fight to heal, Steven is carrying an unimaginable burden.

This fund was created to support Steven and his family in their time of need. Contributions will go toward:

• Medical and rehabilitation expenses for Noah and Gavin

• Support for Steven as he balances work, family, and travel between hospitals

• Household and day-to-day needs during this critical period
