Gauge lost ability to walk on his own

Hello, my name is Danyelle and I am fundraising for my friend Ashley and her son Gauge. Ashley is a single mom with two son's and up until the beginning of January Gauge appeared healthy like your typical kid, but then he suddenly lost his ability to walk without assistance.

On January 6th 2022 he was admitted to VJH things were changing a bit, but then took a worse turn. January 17th they were flown to Vancouver so he can have more tests at the Children's hospital.

Update August 8th 2022

Gauge was been on hes medication taking vitamins and nutrients since the end of January the medication was working for him but the last blood work showed that his infection rate was still high in his body we did another test to find out that his medication is not working for him the way the doctors want it to and that he is having side effects from this. Now we're having to change his medication from oral to ejection shots to help with his inflammatory bowel disease/ Crohn's disease. We are planning to go back to Children's Hospital in Vancouver August 17th and the 31st to switch his medication. He also is having to wear leg braces to help build back his muscle mass that he lost which was about 30%.
