To all my friends and Wantagh Warriors,

I hope everyone is doing well. I have come upon some difficult times, and I am humbly

swallowing my pride and asking for help. I have agonized over this for the last 2 ½

years..

Over the last 2 years, due to an error by a private third party administrator called

“Maximus,” I have “over paid” my legally required child support for my now 20 year old

son to my ex-wife by more than $15,000.00. While I am always ready and willing to

support my son, and want what’s best for him in life, I couldn’t afford to overpay this

money. As a direct result of this, I have not been able to pay the property taxes on my

house, and now the county has placed a lien on it. I have requested my ex-wife to

return the money, but she has refused. She lives out of state, and if I try and sue her

for it, it will cost me even more money to start the case. I have tried to correct this with

Maximus for over 2 years, and submitted all of the correct paperwork, and they have not

been able or willing to correct it. I feel that the system has failed me and now I may

lose my house.

As many of you know, I am a U.S. Navy Veteran, and have been really struggling with

multiple issues, including IBS, Neuropathy, and the Gulf war syndrome. Additionally, I

have been fighting with the Veteran’s Administration for their confirmation of my

disabilities and have been requesting that the required paperwork for both health and

auto insurance coverage. I am very hopeful that I will get a Nexus board hearing with

the VA to get the coverage I need.

In reality, I struggle every day with balance and walking but I continue to move forward I

am humbly asking for your help. I work, but it is getting very difficult sometimes. I have

good days and bad days, but I am Long Island Strong.

I am asking for your help from the bottom of my heart. It has taken me 3 months to

swallow my pride and ask for help. Thank you, Pete and Sandra and Michele Specht,

for setting me straight. I love all of you. For the community, I thank you all for your love
