Please help oppose Gatwick's controversial new runway by sponsoring me.
I'm Pat Smith (local resident, campaigner and granny aged 77) and I'm joining Jonathan Essex, Deputy Chair of GACC (Gatwick Area Conservation Campaign) to walk round the threatened area - around 16 miles - on Saturday 6th June.
We'll cover the whole airport perimeter, taking in rivers, public footpaths, woods and cycleways.
GACC needs money for their legal fund so please be generous.
Why?
Gatwick's big enough! Expansion will generate around 100,000 EXTRA flights each year. There were around 260,000 flights in 2025.
In an age of increasing climate threat, expansion of air travel makes no sense. Big business make huge profits and we pay the price, as always.
People and nature will be even more affected by noisy flight paths / local traffic / pollution etc. Air, water and light pollution will increase across south-east England.
The present fuel crisis exposes the vulnerability of air travel.
I'm doing this because I care about future generations: please help GACC to fight for them in the courts by sponsoring me generously.
