Gatti Home Flood Fund

On July 26, 2022, the St. Louis region experienced historical rainfall in a 1 in 1,000-year event.

Many people have experienced significant loss, including my brother Raffaele and his family. Ra, Samantha, Henry (3), and Josephine (1) had to be evacuated from their home at 5:45 AM (thank you, Adam). A sewer main on the street broke due to the extreme amount of water rushing through it. The water quickly overtook both of their vehicles (totaling them) and made its way to their home. The pressure caused the home's foundation to fail; within minutes, the basement was filled to the ceiling with water, destroying countless personal items, pictures, and memories.

This is their first home together. Raffaele and Sam built a family here... they made this house a home. It’s where they brought Henry and Jo from the hospital, and it’s the only home these sweet little kids have known. As Henry put it, "Our house broke."

Those of you that know Ra and Sam know that they would do anything to help their friends and family! They do not know that we are starting this GoFundMe, but we are doing it to relieve some stress.

There are so many hurdles they will face to get out of this mess... the shortage of rental cars, the lack of new vehicles, difficulties in getting a contractor, and insurance companies inundated with claims.

Every little bit will help; we want to get them home as soon as possible... to rebuild Ra and Hank’s “Man Cave.”
