Gator needs TPLO surgery. Gator is a 7 year old boxer mix. I adopted him from a rescue in Connecticut when he was only 9 weeks old. He is one of the best dogs ever, and although he enjoys cuddles and lots of naps, he’s still very active and loves his daily hikes and playing ball. Recently he tore his cranial cruciate ligament, which is a ligament in the knee. It’s very painful, similar to when a football player tears an ACL. Since then, he has been on strict bed rest and will need to continue that 12 weeks post surgery. He’s being so good about it all, but he misses his walks, he’s in pain, and he seems depressed. Surgery is scheduled for July 31st. He’s already had an expensive year, as has my other older dog. The estimate is high as expected, and like many people I’ve been having a hard enough time affording the already existing vet bills on top of my own bills to begin with, so coming up with $5000 to $6000 quickly on my own is just not realistic. (The estimate was much higher but his insurance will reimburse most of that remaining portion I’m not collecting money for.) I didn’t want to have to ask for financial help, but I would do anything for my boy. So if you have the money to donate in his behalf, we would so greatly appreciate it.
