Gather for the Gowls

Adam Gowl, a beloved husband, father, and brother, is in the throes of battling a tremendous fight for life. Recently Adam was diagnosed with lymphoma in his brain along with leptomeningeal metastatic disease of the spine. LC is a very rare complication of cancer that requires intense treatments along with the overwhelming treatments for his type of lymphoma. We are friends of the Gowl family and admire the way Adam, Jennifer, and their son have faced this terrible circumstance. We could introduce you in no better way than to share one of Jennifer's facebook posts concerning their situation:
“The heart of man plans his ways, but the LORD establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
On April 28, 2019 God certainly established new steps for us. We went into the Duke ED with Adam having seizures. Fast forward about 6 and half weeks and 2 brain surgeries later we have a diagnosis of Lymphoma. Adam’s case is a difficult one. We have been supported in every possible way by family, our church family, our work families, and everyone in between. The grace that God has poured out has been absolutely AMAZING! “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2. May God continue to be glorified by this road that he has laid before us. No matter what comes next, may we love and live well so that God gets all the glory, honor, and praise. Thank you Lord for our suffering for it brings us closer to You. Thank you, Lord, for our trial as it brings us closer to the family, blood and chosen, that surround and support us. Thank you, Abba for loving us so much that You want us to be more like You. “For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in us” Romans 8:18. We appreciate your prayers during this time."
In the time since the post above treatments have compounded and it is impossible for Adam to return to work in the near future. We love this family dearly and want to help in any way possible. This is an opportunity for all of us to come together and help carry this precious family through this trying time in their lives. Let us join together and lighten any burdens that we can. Please share this campaign far and wide so that everyone has the opportunity to gather and give to the Gowls.
