Hi everyone, my name is Paula and with my husband Richard, we are fundraising for our family.
I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, MIKAELA last Feb 5 2023 at 26 weeks, only 1lb and 15 ounces.
She has been in the NICU for over 2 months now and still counting. She is a strong beautiful little soul surviving 2 major operations and a few small procedures that came her way. Her journey at the NICU, growing and fighting is painful to see. All I wish was that her pain be transferred to me. Her bowels are still outside her body in an ostomy bag and still waiting for her body to be ready for the next operation to put it back. At the moment she is stable and has grown tremendously. We are hoping for the best.
This is us right now and every development is a milestone for us.
We try to see her almost every day, and as a mother, I want to be with her all the time if I can. I would want that but realistically it's very challenging to do so. I have not been working for over 2 months now and my husband has been doing part-time jobs trying to support us. We have stretched and exhausted our savings. We applied for government help. We are currently financially tight and trying our best to stay afloat. Our bills have not stopped and our daily expenses are more than usual. Just going to the hospital, with gas, toll, parking fee, and other miscellaneous expenses is a chunk when added, especially on a daily and on top of that our monthly bills, and also medical bills that are not covered by our insurance. Our family has been helping us but we understand they also have a lot on their plate. At this point that we realized we need help from our community.
We are doing this fundraising to seek financial help for us to get by until we are back on our feet. Us, parents are knocking on your kind heart for any donations to help us see and provide for our baby, cover some of the medical and other bills we are behind and make sure we have everything ready when she is ready to come home. I will be going back to work while my baby is in the NICU and my husband working at the same time. We just needed help to get through these tough times. I know God will provide and I believe in the power of community.
We are hoping for your understanding and kindness. Any amount is a BIG HELP and is greatly appreciated. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL. Thank you very much and may GOD BLESS US ALL!
