Michael Acy surgical fund
Michael Acy has been going through a really rough sickness since November 2019. In and out of hospitals and dr offices every couple of weeks since then. He was diagnosed in December with Gastroperisis- which is the muscles in his stomach do not contract properly, only allowing 14 percent of food to empty. He has taken all medicines available for this diagnosis- the last option for this is the gastric electric stimulator. The gastric electric stimulator will be inserted into the stomach and be controlled by battery. This is to hopefully help be able to pass more food into the stomach. During the past 7 months, he has lost around 80 pounds, not being able to keep food down. He has also not been able to work because of staying so weak and so sick. His potassium levels stay super low, which will cause the heart to become weak. Sunday June 6th, he wasn’t feeling well and decided to go to the ER. He was admitted for potassium levels being 2.1, heart rate being 30, and blood pressure at 56/42. He was seen by several doctors while there, one being a heart doctor. The heart doctor Informed him that the gastroperisis is so severe that it’s now causing his heart to become weak, because of lack of nutrition so they are now saying he may need a pacemaker for his heart.
BUT, first things first- he needs to get the gastroperisis under control before he has to have a pacemaker. His insurance is great, but this is one procedure that they will not cover, we have tried everything we know to try. The gastric stimulator is around $30,000. This is all so much to take in. Mike has small grandchildren that adore him and need him, a loving wife, and children. If you could take a minute to donate a small amount to try and help us, help him it would be more than appreciated. Even if you are not able to donate, please share and keep him in your prayers.
