Hi friends!
I’m Chef D, owner & operator of GastroCraft. Many of you already know me, but if you don’t, let me introduce myself.
I love food & grew up watching my mom cook and bake, which led to a love of cooking myself. I moved from Houston to Rhode Island where I earned a Bachelors in Culinary. After school, I spent much of my early career cooking at the famed Google cafés in California. There, I learned the true meaning of seasonality—how to create fresh, fun, thoughtful food that people genuinely love coming back to.
After moving back to Houston in 2013, I started developing a dream: a place that serves gastronomically adventurous food alongside carefully selected beers, wines & craft beverages that pair perfectly with each dish.
In 2017, that dream became GastroCraft, starting humbly on pop-up tables at local breweries. After a couple of years of incredible support & success, we transitioned into our GastroCraft food bus in 2019—and you all showed up for us in a big way.
Now, in 2026, we’re ready for the next step…
Brick. & Mortar.
We’ve had years of growing sales & success on the food bus, but now it’s time to spread our wings & show you what GastroCraft can truly become with more space, more creativity & more room to serve our community.
To make this happen, we need your help. Our goal is $50,000 (that’s not all we need…). We’ve set the GoFundMe goal a little lower to ensure we can get rolling. We’re investing in ourselves too & already have funds set aside—every single donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to opening our doors though.
If GastroCraft has ever fed you, inspired you, or just made your day a little better—we’d be honored to have your support in this next step of our journey.
If you’d like to help out in an even bigger way & are interested in investment opportunities please reach out to us.
We LOVE you all & have felt that love every step of the way. Thank you for believing in us & helping turn this dream into reality.
With endless gratitude,
Chef D
GastroCraft (Food Bus… for now)
