Hello, good afternoon. My name is Lizbeth Ramirez Ruvalcaba. I am Pepito's mother, and I am asking for your help. First of all, thank you for continuing to pray for us and Pepito's well-being. As you know, he has been here in the hospital for 7 weeks. The first two weeks were spent undergoing test after test to find out why Pepito kept vomiting, and it had gotten so bad that he was vomiting blood. They didn't know the cause until a week ago when Pepito was diagnosed with:
SEVERE GASTROPARESIS (his stomach and intestines stopped functioning, causing the vomiting and severe pain that could only be relieved with morphine!).
They inserted a longer tube that goes directly into his intestine to see if he can tolerate his formula. It is the only option the doctors have given us for now so that Pepito can go home and have a little more time with us and a better quality of life. They also inserted a central catheter so they can feed him intravenously with TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition). They started on Thursday with only 5 milliliters. Thank God, the first day went very well, but everything started badly when they began increasing the amount of formula. Yesterday it was 15 milliliters per hour, and he had pain again that could only be relieved with morphine. Today they lowered it to 10 milliliters per hour, and it will only be 6 hours.
We still have some time to wait here in the hospital; let's hope to God it won't be too long.
I'm reaching out because I know many people have kind hearts and will continue praying and supporting us.
Not many people know, but I'm 7 months pregnant, and thank God everything is going well. However, because of my condition, my husband has had to stop working to help me take care of Pepito in the hospital and be present for all the tests that require radiation. If you are able and would like to contribute something, we will be eternally grateful. Today for us, tomorrow
for you!
Thank you again.
