My beautiful friend Ann is just like anybody else's friend. She is an intelligent, funny, big hearted mother and wife. She has worked hard all her life . She loves to sew , her chooks , she even drops the odd profanity :)
The difference here is that after an exhausting and "successful" battle against Breast Cancer ( She's tackled breast , brain and bone tumours ) she needs chemotherapy to prolong her life as she has stage 4 Cancer ( HER2 + ER) Stage 4 is end stage cancer , terminal , and although you cant fix it , you can have treatment to prolong life .
The chemo drug Ann needs is made by Roche and is not covered by the PBS . For Ann, Roche has kindly agreed to reduce its $93000 price tag to $15000 on compassionate grounds.
Ann and her family have drained their finances fighting her disease and despite still working 4 days a week ( she has no superannuation ) she can not afford the treatment.
This is where we can help. I dont have $15000 either but I believe that if people donate what they can and share this campaign we can prolong her life . We all feel powerless against Cancer . This is a very real and worthy way of fighting back. We can change the ending of this story.
