Hello,

My mom and I have been homeless for a month now. We got evicted from our apartment after my mom lost her job in April. Ever since then, we stayed with my sister for two weeks but that did not work out due to expressed discomfort with us living in their living room.

My mom and I have been living in our car for two weeks. My mom has high blood pressure and is diabetic and the eating habits she has developed due to not being able to cook a good meal is sabotaging her health. Not only that, her feet has become overly swollen due to not being able to elevate them in our small car.

My mom has a job that she goes to in person, she always would remotely due to her disabilities, but now she isn’t able to due to not having a workspace. it is already difficult for her to get to work everyday living out of our car and not being able to rest her head after. She is 60 years old and is not able to endure as much as she would usually be able to.

I, 16, have missed school for over a month, and have now just switched schools. I was able to attend school for a week but now, my mom and I are running out of gas money. My mom gets paid biweekly during training, and is not allowed to miss a day or she gets restarted. Her paycheck is coming Monday and she was not able to go today because our gas is incredibly low.

Gas is the most important thing we need next to food. We use it to get around everywhere living in our car, and we cannot do anything without it. If we run out, we will have no money for a tow truck, and no place to sleep.

Everything has just started to get back on track, but now I am going to have to miss school again after already failing a whole quarter due to my absence, and my mom possibly having to quit due to no transportation.

All our belongings in storage will be taken and our car will get taken if we have no money. Her car payment is already past due and we need to have money to get her from work and back. I am concerned about my school, but her getting to work is way more important.

We overheat in the car every night because we have to sleep with the windows up out of fear large spiders proceeding to come into our car. I have had many restless nights due to spiders crawling right next to my face. We wake up with the windows fogged and humid conditions. My mom struggles from heat flashes so she suffers the most.

We just need to get her to work. Everything can get better. I wish for things to get better everyday but it’s things like this that set us back and bring everything back down to hell.

My mom is my entire life and all I have, and I am deathly concerned about her health conditions as her job is already stressful on top of our living conditions. I don’t remember the last time I slept comfortably on a bed with no worries in my mind about when the last time would be.
