My niece Izabella was hit by a car after getting off the bus on oct 12. She was taken to Henry ford allegiance then life flighted to Detroit children's hospital for injuries that include a fracture on the left front of her skull (where they found a small brain bleed) multiple fractures in the left side of her face and a broken collar bone. The first ct that was done found a brain bleed that was about a cm. They rechecked about 6 hours later and found the bleed had went from about 1 cm to about 4cm. The doctor explained that it was putting pressure on her brain and surgery was needed. They took off a small piece of her skull so they could take out the blood clot. They informed us that the surgery went well and took her right away to get another ct to make sure the blood wasn’t coming back. The ct results showed the surgery was a success. Today she will be having reconstructive surgery for the fractures im her face. She did wake up this morning and is communicating and they are talking about taking her off of the ventilator soon.
