GaryX: The Revolutionary Robot for the FIRST Tech Challenge
The passion for robotics and technological innovation has brought together a group of students from ITIS Mario Delpozzo in Cuneo, inspiring us to form a team to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge, one of the most prestigious robotics competitions worldwide. This challenge is the perfect opportunity to test our technical skills and grow both personally and professionally.
Our Project: GaryX
We designed GaryX, a robot inspired by Gary, SpongeBob's snail, specifically built to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge. The robot is equipped with a mechanical arm and a precision gripper, allowing for strategic block manipulation and placement.
Main Features:
Snail-inspired design, combining creativity and functionality.
Articulated robotic arm with a precision gripper.
Programmable control system for accurate movements.
Optimized structure for efficient block collection and placement.
Objectives:
Competitive:
Maximize points through effective block collection and placement.
Qualify for the national stage of the competition.
Showcase innovation in design and technical solutions.
Educational:
Develop hands-on skills in robotics and programming.
Strengthen teamwork and collaboration.
Gain experience in managing complex projects.
Our Team:
We are students with skills in:
Mechanical design
Programming
Assembly
Game strategy
Documentation
This contribution will help us fund our trip to the Netherlands if we win the international competition, or, in case of defeat, cover travel expenses for the national competition for the participants' families.
It will also support the merchandising and materials needed for the project.
