Gary Sheckler Memorial Fund

My name is Samantha Sheckler and I am the daughter-in-law of Peggy and Gary Sheckler. On Thursday, April 16, we got the unexpected news that Gary Sheckler passed away at his home. The world not only lost an incredible man, but the Sheckler family lost an irreplaceable husband, father, uncle and his newest roles as grandpa and father-in-law. Although I knew Gary for what seems to be such a short time, I quickly saw the love he had for his family. He loved working on anything with his boys and teaching them his infinite life skills. Gary would drop anything he was doing to help his friends and family out.

Over the past year, Gary got to enjoy the birth of his first grandchild, the marriage of his eldest son, and he proudly helped his youngest son with buying his first piece of property that he will build his future home on. As a proud grandpa, there was never a time that you wouldn't see a smile on his face when he was around his granddaughter. I am utterly sad for people who didn't get to meet this wonderful man. For the people that did know him, I know we all feel blessed that we got to have him in our lives.

We are hoping this account will help with funeral and miscellaneous expenses that will fall on Peggy and the family. Thank you all so much for your love and support during this time. I am sure Peggy and the boys really appreciate the outpour of love and stories that are shared to keep Gary alive in our hearts.
